Border 2 Movie: Sunny Deol Says Soldier’s Uniform ‘Gives Strength
The actor, in his first appearance since his father Dharmendra's passing, becomes emotional discussing his role as the film sets a Republic Day 2026 release.
MUMBAI
— In an emotional first look at the upcoming war drama Border
2, star Sunny
Deol revealed that wearing a soldier’s uniform provides the core strength for
his powerful performance. The actor made his first public appearance since the
passing of his father, screen legend Dharmendra, becoming visibly moved while
delivering a patriotic dialogue at a Mumbai event for the film.
“Whenever
you wear the uniform, there’s an excitement that you feel, and you feel you are
also a soldier,” Deol shared. “It’s just that we get the opportunity to essay
the character of a soldier, and 99 percent of the time, it is the uniform that
gives us the strength to play the part.”
Border 2 Uniform Provides Authentic Power for Border 2 Role
Deol
explained that while actors don't undergo full military training, the uniform
itself bridges the emotional gap, allowing them to channel a soldier's spirit
authentically. The sequel to the iconic 1997 film Border is directed by Anurag Singh and
will hit theaters on January 23, 2026, just ahead of Republic Day.
Patriotism Connects Generations in Border 2
The
actor also reflected on how love for the country remains unchanged across
generations, a central theme in the Border 2 movie. “The country is our mother,” Deol
stated. “Today’s youth also consider it as their mother, and they will protect
it the same way as their fathers and grandfathers did.”
Star Cast and Iconic Music Return for Border 2 Sequel
The Border
2 cast features
a mix of established and rising stars, including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh,
Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, and Mona Singh. Producer Bhushan Kumar announced that
a recreated version of the original film’s iconic song, “Sandese
Aate Hai,” will be released on January 2, 2026, promising to reignite patriotic
fervor ahead of the film’s premiere.
With a
compelling blend of legacy emotion and next-generation storytelling, Border
2 aims to
capture the enduring spirit of patriotism and sacrifice when it arrives in
cinemas in 2026.
