After the sad and sudden demise of Bollywood actor Irrfan yet another death rocks the film industry. Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away today after he breathed his last at a Mumbai hospital. Entire B-Town is shunned to silence with the recent battle developments.

While it was Bollywood's megastar and a dear friend of Rishi Kapoor Amitabh Bachchan who broke the news on his Twitter handle, other celebs have been taking to their social media handles to express their shock and condolences to the family of the bereaved.

Rishi Kapoor passed away at the age of 67. He had just got treated for his cancer and returned to India. He was hospitalized recently after he complained of some breathing problems. 

However, his brother Randhir Kapoor had assured his fans that there is nothing to panic about and that he will be alright soon. He is survived by his wife Neetu Kapoor and children Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and actor Ranbir Kapoor.

In an unfortunate development, actor Rishi Kapoor lost his long battle with Leukemia. As we all know, the actor had traveled to the US for his treatment earlier and came back looking younger and healed. 

But he has had his share of health issues ever since. The family had been referring to the treatment as ‘marrow’ and today the family confirmed that the actor was struggling with leukemia.

Let us first understand what leukemia is – Leukemia is a cancer of the body's blood-forming tissues, which includes the bone marrow as well as the lymphatic system.

 There are several types of leukemia and some even affect the children, however, mostly leukemia occurs in adults. 

According to Cancer. Org, most often, AML develops from cells that would turn into white blood cells (other than lymphocytes), but sometimes AML develops in other types of blood-forming cells.

To understand the course of treatment that the actor may have undergone, we spoke exclusively to the subject matter expert Dr. Rahul Bhargava, Director, Haematology, Haematol – Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant, fortis Mertis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram.

The doctor says the way it appears, the star must have suffered from Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) which is cancer that starts in the bone marrow and is the soft inner part of certain bones, where the body makes new blood cells. This often quickly moves into the blood, as well.

Talking about the treatment for this particular illness, Dr. Bhargava said, “There is a possibility that he underwent a MUD (Match unrelated donor) transplant with reduced-intensity conditioning (RIC), which basically means that he was given a lower intensity treatment, considering his age.

How does MUD work?

In MUD, stem cells from outside are injected into the body, and mature stem cells are targeted and removed. A person has to be in the hospital for close to 21-25 days for this procedure and then we wait and see how the body responds to the treatment. The doctor adds that clearly the treatment couldn’t control his disease and he succumbed to it.

well we all know life is just a search for death and life became fulfilled after death, death is fixed with everyone's birth, so don't cry for death. we all say as we read heard or acquired this knowledge from our religious scripture but the truth is different no wants to lose their loved one.

you should always do the right thing because your good deed will recall after your life is finished and it will show your natural character in public opinion so don't cry on death but think I also died so let me do something which can make me immortal like some great personality like Mahatma Gandhi, or anyone to whom you most loved.
